Preparing for Corbin

Well we have a lot going on right now and I've come to realize my once a week posts are slowly becoming once a month posts! ;)  

The wedding festivities have started for Kaley and Jason.  Andrew and Nicole threw them an "I Do BBQ" to kick things off.  We had such a great time.  The best part of the night was when Brian and Shaun sang Kaley and Jason's engagement song.  It was so funny and summed up their relationship perfectly.  To see the song you can go to Kaley's FB page.  Can't wait for the other festivities and planning to begin.  Next on the list is her Christmas shower! 

I've had such an easy pregnancy.  No morning sickness and mostly just belly.  But this belly is getting heavy and it's very hard to get comfortable at night.  Most nights I toss and turn and get around 4 hours sleep.  I guess this is Corbin's way of preparing me for when he gets here! :)  He is an active little thing and moves around A LOT.  I love to feel him move, although he could cut out some of the moving during the middle of the night! ;)  It's getting more and more real that he will be here in just 8 short weeks.  Here are a few maternity pics to catch you up.

I thought decorating our new house was difficult but nursery decorating is HARD!  So many decisions.  We couldn't really come up with a theme so we are just going with bright colors and lots of chevron (LOVE chevron!) So thankful Beth and Gabe gave us all their baby furniture!! Gran, Papa, and Heath have really put a lot of hard work in to get our sweet baby's room ready! :) Here is a pic of the nursery so far.  It's still a work in progress.

Heath and I just attended our 5th costume party together and I have to say this year's costumes were one of my favorites.  In 2009, we were Brett Michaels and his Rock of Love.  In 2010, we were Fryer Tuck and Robin Hood.  In 2011, we were a Bride and Groom.  In 2012, we were Kermit and Ms. Piggy.  And this year, we were a pregnant lady from the 50's and the milkman.  Yes, I'm pregnant, and the milkman is my baby's daddy! haha 

That should check you up on the Owens for the next few weeks.  Over the next few weeks our friends and family will be showering us with love and lots of cute little baby gifts.  We have 4 baby showers coming up within the next three weeks.  We are truly blessed with amazing friends and family.  I'm sure Corbin will have everything he needs when he gets here! :)

Griswold Family Vacation

School has started back and this teacher is TIRED!  I've been able to sleep late during the summer almost my entire pregnancy and now waking up at 6:00 is definitely a change for Corbin and I.  Good news is I'm eating really healthy during school hours because my 4th graders are sure to let me know when I eat something that is not good for the baby! haha.

 We went to PCB for our annual Griswold family during Labor Day weekend and had a great time.  We laid around on the beach, played in the sand, walked down the beautiful beach, ate good food, and went to Pier Park on the last night.  Gran and Papa rented a car to ride around at the beach.  Allie and Harrison loved it!!

     Football season has started for the DIVIDED HOUSE.  I didn't get season tickets this year because I didn't know how I'd be feeling during this pregnancy.  I still go tailgate and then head home to watch my AU TIGERS on my couch! ;)

    Heath's 27th birthday was September 14th!  We spent the day watching football then spent Saturday night with friends at a couples shower for Eric and Britleigh.  I got Heath tickets to see Lionel Richie for his birthday and he is super excited.  Yes, a Lionel Richie concert was on my husband's bucket list. haha.

     Our last doctor's visit was September 18th.  So far mommy has gained 14 pounds :/ and Corbin is measuring to be a healthy baby with a strong heart beat! YAY!  His bedding came in last week (Thanks PolkaTot Designs, we love it!) and the nursery has been painted gray.  Now comes the fun of decorating!  The month of November will be an exciting month because my friends and family have three showers planned.  I can't wait to celebrate with friends and family and also get a lot of cute stuff! :)

  3 months til our sweet boy is here and I know it will fly by!

Well tonight my best friend Kaley is officially off the market!!! Jason proposed to Kaley today and I am sooooo super duper excited for them.  I can't wait for the wedding planning to start!  She is going to be a stunning bride!  I can't wait to see how she handles all the decisions that need to be made to plan a wedding.  Just adding a photo on Facebook tonight took 5 tries before she approved the photo to be posted! ;) I won't go into details on how he popped the question because that is her story to tell not mine.  But I will give you these hints: sky diving, a big bling ring, a huge banner, video footage, and lots of photos.  Tomorrow Kaley will be moving to FL but I'm excited she will have to come home a lot for wedding planning! :)

Catching you up on this pregnancy!

So to catch you up with my pregnancy, I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant.  We found out 2 weeks ago we are having a baby boy.  Corbin Heath Owens is expected to make his debut January 4, 2014.  So far, pregnancy has been great for me!  The only thing I have to complain about is my psoriasis.  Psoriasis is pretty much REALLY DRY skin.  I was taking injections for it but had to come off of them when I found out I was pregnant.  It's been pretty much like having chicken pox for the last 4 months! :/ Not fun at all! BUT on a positive note, I did not have morning sickness.  Just the occasional nausea here and there. I've gained 4 pounds so far and my belly really popped out last week.  I crave hot wings and watermelon most days.  Although everyday I crave a glass of wine, shrimp, and sushi! But of course those are all things I can't have! ;)  Heath has been great catering to me when I really want something and being sympathetic to me when I'm tired, cranky, feeling fat, feeling ugly, and just want to lay around and be lazy! ;) I haven't had any emotional pregnancy breakdowns yet but I'm sure that will come in the near future! haha.  My mom has turned into SUPER mom and won't let me do anything! (I am definitely not complaining!)  She runs errands with me, vacuums, cleans the house, and much more! She still lets me cook and do laundry, which are things I enjoy doing.  The rest she can have! ;)

So after seeing my friends' cute blogs about their pregnancies and precious families, I decided to give this thing a try! We'll see how it goes!  (Thanks Beth Parkman and Meagan Fryer.)  I am hoping however to keep this thing up and running with the remainder of my pregnancy and when Corbin gets here.

So just a quick preview of what's happened in our lives in 2013!!

We found out we were pregnant in April! (yes we were trying and no it didn't take long!) ;)

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary at the beach in June!

Moved into our new house in June!

Found out we were having a BABY BOY in July!! Corbin Heath Owens estimated arrival date: 1/4/14

Now it's full speed ahead for this teacher in August! Classroom is ready, teachers go back Tuesday, then August 19th BRING ON THE STUDENTS! :)
